Opportunities for graphic, print, and web design, come up for me from time to time and I enjoys these side projects.

Carter's Grays
"Carter's Grays", work in progress
Alternatives to the quintessential "Gray's Anatomy" illustration. The author of the famous medical book was Henry Gray, but few know of the illustrator, Henry Vandyke Carter. As a young man who struggled to find meaning in his career, Carter found it in his collaboration with Henry Gray.
martyr
"martyr/price of war", December 2008
Sound bites from the morning NPR news play in my head throughout the day. It's amazing how much humans are willing to sacrifice peace for their beliefs and sense of territory. I drew the image in pencil and marker, but While processing the image, its inverse had an x‐ray quality the reinforced the martyred victim concept.
cat
"Cat", 1998
This is a stream of consciousness drawing. I had no clue what was coming until it was on paper.
bench
ArtsUnion Union Square Bench, submitted June 2006
Bench designer, Aaron Binkley, requested graphic designs from artists for four bench tops. The concept was layers of what may have been reflected on or seen through the glass, over time. Pictured with Mayor Curtatone in December 2007 on the bench.
Honduran days
"Honduran Days" December 2008
This was a gift to my inlaws. They miss their son Clint, who is in Honduras teaching and spending time with his Honduran fiancee. With his permission, I used his photos for this composition.
invitation
"08.08.08" wedding invitation, mailed June 2008
My husband and I got married this past August. Since our wedding was on a farm, and our reception was a barbeque, I aimed to
combine the rustic venue and carefree atmosphere, with the ceremonial aspect of the event. 8.5"x5.5"
